DESCRIPTION:The City of Coquitlam’s Urban Forestry team is organizing “exciting new projects to help restore Smiling Creek and Lafarge Lake Island!”\n“These Bad Seed Restoration Events will include invasive weed pulls & native planting events. Together, we’ll remove invasive plants like Himalayan blackberry, help native plants thrive, & support a healthier habitat for local wildlife!”\nBMN members are welcome to join any of these events, but BMN has selected Saturday, September 19th at Smiling Creek and Saturday, October 3rd at Lafarge Lake Island to attend as a group.\nSmiling Creek Restoration Dates:\nFri Sept 4, 9 AM–12 PM\nSat Sept 12, 1 PM–3 PM\nThurs Sept 17, 9 AM–12 PM\nFri Sept 18, 9 AM–12 PM\nSat Sept 19, 9 AM–12 PM – Burke Mountain Naturalists joining as a group!\nLafarge Lake Island Restoration Dates: (Normally closed to the public!)\nWed Sept 23, 1 PM-3 PM\nSat Sept 26, 1 PM–3 PM\nSat Oct 3, 1 PM–3 PM – Burke Mountain Naturalist joining as a group!\nNo experience needed and gloves, tools, & snacks are provided!
