DESCRIPTION:Invasive Plant Removal Work Parties at Blakeburn Lagoons Park\nJoin us for the upcoming invasive plant removal sessions at Blakeburn Lagoons Park, scheduled for three Tuesday mornings: September 22nd, October 6th, and October 20th. These sessions will be hosted by the City of Port Coquitlam.\n \nWork Party Meeting Place and Timing:\nEach session will start at 9:00 am with a brief orientation and continue until noon.\nWe will meet at the western main entrance to the park by the washroom, display kiosk and picnic tables at the south end of Elbow Place, Port Coquitlam.\nWhile you are welcome to stay for the entire event, even helping for a portion of the session will be appreciated. Bring along your friends!\nThese sessions will be conducted rain or shine, with our hope for reasonable weather.\nWork Party Plan, Equipment and Clothing:\nWe will again focus on removing Himalayan Blackberry plants.\nYou are welcome to bring your own gloves and garden tools (such as a shovel, loppers and a rake). The City will likely also have some spare tools available.\nDepending on the forecast, you may wish to bring wet weather gear, as the ground and surrounding vegetation may be damp.\nConsider bringing water, another beverage, and a snack if you like.\nThanks for volunteering your time and energy to preserve natural habitats in our community.\n \nContact Kathy  for further information.\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n
