This event was originally scheduled for June 12 and was rescheduled to June 22.
NOTE: You must be a BMN member to participate in this event due to our insurance liability and Metro Vancouver Regional Park’s requirements.
You can learn more about the bats in our area by joining the BMN bat team on a bat monitoring outing. The outing begins with a brief introduction about the bats. Then, when the sun begins to set, we form small teams to count the bats as they leave their roosts and fly around the area. We generally are out for about two hours.
To confirm and to get details about the meeting location, contact John Saremba by email at johnsaremba@gmail.com or phone at 604.945.0318. The outing will be rescheduled if it is raining or very windy. Check the web site for updates.
As it can get cool in the evening, it is recommended to bring along a jacket and to wear closed footwear. A headlamp or flashlight, and some insect repellent are useful to have.
