THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO CONCERNS ABOUT COVID-19.
WE WILL RE-SCHEDULE WHEN POSSIBLE.
Our guest speaker this month is David Clements, Biology Professor at Trinity Western University. David will take us on a journey through time, exploring the past, present and future of our local climate. The past will be examined through his research on bogs and other habitats in the Metro Vancouver area. Perspectives on the present are revealed by looking at how trees like red cedars in Burnaby’s Central Park are becoming victims of climate change and what we can do to make forests more resilient. And viewing into the future will explore how Regional Parks can preserve biodiversity and provide vital ecological services while adapting to climate change.
* Please note that this presentation is held on the Tuesday immediately prior to our regular Thursday slot. The church is not available to us on the Thursday for this month.
