It’s spring! And Aleesha Switzer, biologist with the Fraser Valley Conservancy and the PreciousFrog program, will be our guest speaker. Her presentation will include information about low elevation wetlands and their importance as habitat for Canada’s most-endangered amphibian, the Oregon spotted frog. The Latin name for the Oregon spotted frog is Rana pretiosa, meaning “precious frog“. Aleesha will tell us about the Aldergrove Regional Park wetland restoration project and about the PreciousFrog’s research programs.She will also describe some exciting eDNA studies that indicate the locations of Oregon spotted frogs in our area.
