Two BMN members will be our presenters at this special meeting.
Paul Steeves will begin the evening with a short slideshow of his stunning photographs of grizzly bears in their natural habitat. Paul travelled to the Cariboo last October to photograph grizzlies near Chilko Lake, where the bears congregate during the salmon run. Paul’s photos capture candid moments in the lives of these impressive animals.
The evening’s main presentation will be given by Bruce Brandhorst who will describe the highlights of his recent travels to national parks in southern Kenya. These parks have a broad range of habitats, and each habitat has its own unique wildlife. The focus of Bruce’s slideshow is the large wildlife, but not the adults. Instead he’ll show us the juveniles that he saw, including a newborn hippo, leopard cubs, very young elephants and an orphaned rhino.
