Monthly Meetings
In the fall of 2023, we began in-person meetings in a new venue, Como Lake United Church (535 Marmont St, Coquitlam). Some monthly meetings will still be conducted via Zoom, however. The in-person meetings are open to all. Everyone is welcome, and bring a friend! If you are not a BMN member, but would like to join one of the meetings held via Zoom, please contact us.
If you need some help setting up your computer for Zoom meetings, let us know and we’ll guide you through it.
Not able to attend an in-person or a Zoom meeting in real time? Some of our speakers have generously agreed to their presentations being recorded for later viewing. See BMN’s YouTube channel for past presentations.
Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month (except July and August) from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The June meeting takes the form of a group walk in a local natural area. NOTE: Occasionally throughout the year, we need to shift our meeting date slightly, so please check the events calendar or the BMN newsletter for updates.
BMN monthly meetings often feature a guest speaker that provides a 45 minute presentation to our members and guests. Speakers are usually recognized professionals or specialists in their field with extensive experience in and knowledge of their subject area. Sometimes, members volunteer to share their experiences of a place they have traveled and the flora and fauna they discovered there.
Each regular meeting includes a presentation and a refreshment break, which is sometimes followed by a BMN member’s mini-presentation on a nature themed topic. Meetings are listed in the events calendar and are advertised in the club announcements of the Tri-City News newspaper. Meetings are free and open to all.
