Hiking
Hiking the local mountains is one of the BMN’s most popular activity. A variety of day hikes are scheduled from March to November to appeal to all skill levels. Hiking locations include local trails throughout the Tri-Cities, as well as the surrounding areas, including Whistler, the Gulf Islands, Chilliwack, and the Coquihalla.
The BMN has an annual hike in June to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. The hike is an easy to moderate 11.5 km hike along the Woodland Walk Trail that travels through a lovely mature second-growth forest and includes a view of Saw Blade Falls.
Looking for Hiking and Walking Leaders
With our season of outings quickly approaching, we would like to offer a variety of trips and to do this we need more people willing to lead and help with outings. Do you know an area you would like to share with others? We are looking for members to lead walks that would be about one to three hours and members to lead hikes that range from four hours to eight hours. If you are not sure what is involved with being a leader, we can help train you or you can start as a co-leader. Please contact Ian (604. 939. 4039) for more info.
