This loop trip will travel on less traveled trails and on side roads through Coquitlam and Port Moody. The group will descend through a forested area into Port Moody before regaining elevation on undulating narrow and sometimes overgrown trails. The tranquil sound of Williams and Dallas Creeks can be heard along the way. We will then make our way back to the starting point via side roads. Getting to Crystal Falls used to be much easier, but due to a trail closure it is now a little more difficult. We will start on the Woodland Walk Trail and descend down the Coquitlam River Connector where there is one stream crossing before getting to Crystal Falls. If stream levels are low enough on Pritchett Creek we will return via the Bullet Dodger Trail. Roundtrip distance is 10 km with a cumulative elevation gain of 420 m. Meet at 8:00 am. Return 1:00 pm. To celebrate the twenty-ninth anniversary of the creation of Pinecone Burke Provincial Park, we will do an easy to moderate hike along the Woodland Walk Trail. On this outing we will travel through a lovely mature second-growth forest and view Saw Blade Falls. You should be prepared to cross a few small creeks by easy boulder-hopping, though there will be help in crossing safely. Roundtrip distance is 11.5 km with an elevation gain of 300 m.
