SFU biologists are interested in obtaining yellow jackets for their research on pheromones in these social wasps.
If you have a yellow jacket nest on your property and want it safely removed (for free!), please email Sebastian Ibarra at: sibarra AT sfu DOT ca.
Yellow jackets nest almost exclusively in holes in the ground or in crevices in rocks or buildings; they don’t build the large paper-type nests seen at this time of year.
