Plans for the route of Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline are still being finalized. Only in late March was it announced that fields at Colony Farm Regional Park are being proposed for use as part of the plans for the pipe’s crossing of the Fraser River.
Read the letter written by BMN to oppose the use of park lands for this purpose here.
More information about the project is available at www.transmountain.com.
h1. RALLY AT COLONY FARM PARK ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 14 AT 2:30PM
Join BMN and Forest Ethics Advocacy (FEA) at Colony Farm Park to help protect our park and all the other parks across BC that are potentially threatened by Kinder Morgan’s pipeline. Because parking will be very limited, we ask people to carpool or, better still, join the bicycle tour to Colony Farm which will leave from Gates Park (at western end of Wilson Ave.) in Port Coquitlam at 2 pm. Guest speakers at the Rally include MP Fin Donnelly, Coquitlam Councillor Craig Hodge, Ben West from FEA and others. Following the speeches, we will be walking along Colony Farm Road to point out the fields where Kinder Morgan has proposed to set up their construction site.
