On Friday, October 27th, construction was completed of the bat mini-condo at Colony Farm Regional Park. This project represents a major accomplishment for BMN through the excellent efforts of a large group of volunteers and John Grzesiak (the project contractor). This mini-condo structure is intended to support the maternity colony of Little Brown and Yuma Myotis bats at this park.
Funded by the Pacific Parklands Foundation, this bat mini-condo project involved collaboration and support from a variety of stakeholders, including Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, Colony Farm Park Association, and the Kwikwetlem First Nation. BMN and Metro Vancouver Regional Parks staff are very pleased with how this construction project was conducted, as well as the outstanding quality of the bat mini-condo.
