SAVE THE RIVERVIEW LANDS

The BC Government has announced plans to develop the Riverview Hospital Lands in Coquitlam, BC. Although details are not yet available, the Minister Responsible for Housing, Rich Coleman, has proposed 7000 or more units of market housing, a small social housing project and a few token beds for the mentally ill. Such a development could completely destroy Riverview’s mature tree collection, its natural areas, streams, heritage buildings and landscapes. An important ecological, horticultural, and historical treasure could be lost forever.
